Our society has a fear of getting old and aging. It seems that everywhere you look there is a new product to get rid of wrinkles or rejuvenate your skin for a younger appearance. Botox and other surgical operations to look “younger” (when really you look like a wax figure) are becoming increasingly more popular for those who can afford it. Sidenote: people are using all of these products and rarely know what harmful chemicals they are putting on there skin.
Why is it that aging and having wrinkles or gray hair is seen as the worst thing that could happen. It happens to everyone and is completely natural but for some reason, we feel as though we have to fight it in any way possible. We have to look young for as long as possible. This idea is so embedded in our minds that women feel as though they need to start the anti-aging process at ages like 18 and 20. Remember the episode of KUWTK where Kim got that weird blood facial. People will put themselves through anything as long as they look young forever. But
beauty youth has no pain right?
But for women, it’s more than just the physical things that come with age. For women it’s as if a clock is ticking—your biological clock—and when time runs out, that’s it. It’s a fear most of us have but instead of being scared, we should embrace it. If we spend so much time worrying about the future, we won’t enjoy the present.
The women in this video address this hidden fear we all have in common.
