Azure Antoinette is a poet, spoken word artist, freelance photographer, and youth and arts advocate who focuses on reshaping humanity and the importance of your inner voice. She was included on the Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women in the World issue in 2012 based on her project to educate teen girls on how spoken word, performance poetry, and social media can make an impact on the world along with other projects. She has published three books as a poet: Bittersweet, Commissioned, Commissioned: The Back Story, and a publication that has not been named yet.
Recently she joined the Gap campaign One Stitch Closer to spread the word about how she created her own happiness and how you can too. She believes that you should take control of your life and spend it doing what you love. People have started calling her “the Maya Angelou of the Millennial generation” so she is definitely someone worth following.
